Opening a non-resident account (personal account)
Tokyo Star Bank offers support to non-residents (foreign nationals) to ensure you can use our services with confidence and ease.
Who may apply to open an account?
In principle, the following individuals may apply to open a personal Tokyo Star Bank account for non-residents (foreign nationals):
- *Available for customer with loans such as Tokyo Lucky Star. We may decline applications to open an account as a result of other comprehensive analyses.
Required Procedures
In principle, account opening and other transactions can only be conducted in person at the Financial Lounge located in our main branch (Head Office Sales Department). In order to open an account, you must submit documents that enable us to verify your identity and fill out, sign and stamp your seal on the necessary forms. If you wish to open an account, please contact the email address below to make an appointment to visit us. Please be aware that we may not be able to provide services if you visit our main branch without a reservation.

Notes
- You will not be issued with a passbook. Statements will be mailed to your registered address each month. (Statements will be in Japanese, and explanatory materials will be provided in Chinese or English when you open your account)
- Bank cards will only be issued upon request.
- You will not have access to telephone banking or internet banking.
