Transfer fees (domestic transfers)
Bank charges for transfers to Tokyo Star Bank’s head office and other branches or to other banks.
- *Non-residents are not permitted to transfer funds (domestic transfers).

Definition of a non-resident
Non-residents under the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act are foreigners who meet the following conditions.
- 1.In principle, foreign nationals (excluding persons who work in an office in Japan and who have been in Japan for more than 6 months)
- 2.Persons working for a foreign government or international organization
- 3.Diplomats or consulates appointed or employed abroad and their attendants and employees
- 4.Armed forces of United States of America or the United Nations, their personnel, civilian employees, and families, military sales organization employees, etc., and army post office employees, etc.

ATM Fees

Non-residents are not permitted to transfer money using an ATM.

- Exchange fees vary depending on the product, the currency being traded, and the channel. Click here (in Japanese) for fee for each product.
- Products that charge foreign exchange fees: there is a risk that the yen equivalent of the foreign currency you receive will be less than the amount of yen paid in when the foreign currency deposit was initially made (loss of yen-based principal) due to round trip foreign exchange fees (for example, up to 2 yen per US dollar and 0.5 yen per South African rand) even if the exchange rate is unchanged.

- *1If correspondent fees (paying bank fees) are to be borne by the remitter, an additional 2,500 yen fee will be charged.
The amount charged may exceed 2,500 yen depending on the paying bank and the banks involved (intermediate bank). In such cases, the excess fees will be added at a later date. - *2An additional same-currency handling fee (0.05% of remittance amount, minimum of 2,500 yen) will be charged for transactions between the same currency.

In accordance with the amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information, Tokyo Star Bank will provide you with specific information(*) such as details of the systems used to protect personal information in the country to which your personal information will be communicated.
Please check this information before initiating a foreign remittance.
