Guide to opening an account
Resident's account (Star One Account)
No seal or branch visit required.
- Foreign nationals who have lived in Japan for at least six months
- Foreign nationals who want the benefits of having a bank account in Japan
- * In-branch services are provided in Japanese only.
- * We reserve the right to refuse to allow you to open an account if your bank card, etc. cannot be delivered to the address you provided when applying to open an account or if you are unable to accept delivery, or for other reasons based on our overall judgment.
Non-resident accounts
Non-resident accounts are accounts for foreign nationals that issue bank cards and permit account transfers.

In principle, the following individuals may apply to open a personal Tokyo Star Bank account for non-residents (foreign nationals):
・Holders of a Republic of China (Taiwan) passport
・Residents of Taiwan
・Residents of Taiwan for tax purposes who provide official proof of residency - * We reserve the right to refuse to allow you to open an account if your bank card, etc. cannot be delivered to the address you provided when applying to open an account or if you are unable to accept delivery, or for other reasons based on our overall judgment.
